Fred Lee IV blends the sounds of songwriting influenced by the music in genres of rock, soul, pop, and folk. He brings a modern voice to the timeless classics as he reinvents the sounds that hold true to your ear.
Fred has traveled both regionally and nationally for the last 10 years establishing himself as an up and coming artist with the band Late Night Special.

Forming the band in 2013, Fred began pressuring a career in the music industry and quickly found out he had found a home in music and set out to travel the world doing what he loved behind the wheel of a six string. Along with touring the east coast, and establishing a base in his hometown of Charlotte, Nc , Fred built a Bi-annual Music festival called Shakedown Music Series. The opportunity was presented for him to build a local community driven festival where local bands could establish a presence in a very fast growing scene. Since the shakedown festival has hosted bands such as The Vagabonds, Susto, Of Good Nature, making it a 8 year local fan favorite festival in the Carolina region.

Fred pushed the band to release their first studio album in 2015, and never looked back after the group developed an incredible local following and started to take the east coast by storm one highway at a time. The band followed up in 2020 by releasing their second studio album ” Halfway To Somewhere “. The album birthed the bands top hit ” Don’t Leave Me Lonely “, made popular by the one and only Pat Mcafee infamous sports caster and wrestling fanatic.

As the bands music started to take off Fred found himself getting involved in the national touring Night Lights Sky Lantern festival. Starring as the event’s music headliner and MC for 2020,2021,2022,2023, Fred was invited to take a roll as the Entertainment director for Night Lights, seeing he had a pocket full of experience in event management . The festival currently travels to 15 national locations doing upwards of 20 dates visiting over 200,000 people a year. The partnership continues to grow and there are many new and exciting opportunities on the horizon thanks to Freds hard work and Charismatic energy on stage.

Influences and comparisons include many timeless artists such as Tom Petty, The Band, Eric Clapton, Bill Withers, Yes, Steely Dan, Van Morrison as well as many new and up and coming artists like The Revivalist, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kings of Leon, Imagine Dragons, Cold Play, City and Color.

Fred and the band are turning heads all around the Country but he continues to build his local fanbase year after year. ! You can tell by their stage chemistry and Fred’s powerful, charismatic voice that this band is on the rise and they have no plans to stop.
